A Message From The Mayor, Mary C. Marvin
Welcome to Bronxville. We’re a small village, only one square mile, with 6500 residents yet only 15 miles from midtown Manhattan. We’re proud of our community minded spirit and our beautiful architecture. Residents are attracted to the community for the outstanding school system and the beautiful residential areas with a mix of housing styles from apartments, to townhouses and single family homes.
| Even though we’re "small" we have two colleges nearby, and a train station and hospital in the center of the Village. One noted local historian has commented that Bronxville is a suburb of Westchester County, endlessly copied and never matched. |

The Village of Bronxville is governed by a Mayor and four Trustees who are elected to serve staggered, two-year terms every March and serve without pay. The members of the Board of Trustees are charged with the power to adopt local laws that protect the health, safety, property and general welfare of Village residents and manage local affairs through the adoption of an annual budget.
The Board of Trustees meets regularly on the second Monday of each month. These meetings are open to the public and are televised live on the government access channel 74..
In 1897, independent fire companies from the Town of Eastchester and the Village of Tuckahoe and Village of Bronxville came together to form the Eastchester Fire District consisting of 5 Fire Houses located in the district protecting and serving the entire 3 communities. For over 100 years the Eastchester Fire District has been providing fire protection and other emergency services throughout the district. The departments staff is made up of both career firefighters and volunteer firefighters, making The Eastchester Fire District one of the largest combined departments in the state. |
